Shane Mcgillis believes he is a straight white middle-class male and that his straight white male privilege has afforded him a better life. Because of this, he wants to commit suicide. In fact, he believes that the number of white men killing themselves is too low, (white male suicide rate is 70% of all suicides), and that is why he has started the “White Male Lives Don’t Matter” movement. The goal of the movement is to appropriate the 30% of suicides committed by the oppressed so that all the suicides in the United States are committed by straight white males.
